Siena Heights University has a very expansive campus, covering many areas with trees, green lawns, and potted plants. Siena Heights is a smoke free campus. Near Campus Village, SHU has water retention ponds that function as rain gardens to collect and absorb rain run-off from roofs, lawns, and driveways. To save water, SHU does not use irrigation on the grounds, but relies on natural sources like rain. The only grass that is watered on campus is the baseball field, softball field and practice field by the fieldhouse. If you see a water truck on campus, this is to water the flower pots.
